Reference Heidi's photo of dads farm About "Window View Over The Kuruman Hills" This was a commission from a client who wanted to "look out" through a window onto her father's farmland. She provided the photo and the frame to which I had to match the window frames. The landscape is between Dani[0xC3AB]lskuil and Postmasburg, showing the Kuruman Hills in the Northern Cape Province. I grew up in the Northern Cape and love big open grassy plains. A big Camelthorn like this, is the only escape from a relentless sun, therefor you can't help loving and appreciating the sight of them. |

I love the process of making art and I especially love paintings that also shows the stages the painting went through, from sketchy to finely rendered. To me, it shows the hand of the artist and makes the painting so much more than a photo of the subject. I aim to paint representationally, contrasting realism with abstract, vintage with modern, rough with soft. Women and landscapes are a recurring theme because I have a strong connection with both and wish to celebrate their essence in my paintings. I am constantly learning and developing my craft and it is the most fulfilling journey and relationship with moments of utter joy (and despair). Price Range US$ 89-342 Exhibitions Sanlam prize for best painting on show during 2010 GWK Salon exhibition. Education studying books, dvd's and paintings, trial and error People who chose Maca's work also chose work by: Find other:
