About "Within Within"

When painting mandalas I try to express a feeling inside. All my mandala work are spontaneous and there is no pre-planning involved. I follow the process described by Karl Jung in which he describes mandala painting as a 'doodling' process. I simply start and work with what I have just created to create the next thing, guided by a feeling of 'what works and feels real good'. I do this within a disciplined framework which follow natural laws so that the mandala is balanced and harmonious.

Therefore, one can say that the impression which the mandala creates when completed, and the title it holds, come after the painting is finished.

In this painting, Within within, is inspired by the many layers within the human and is traced back to source, The One.

The painting has a slight Chinese feel. The wood background is hand painted traditional English wood graining. The painting is block mounted and ready to hang.
