About "Womb of Mountains"

As I lay on a rock on Glen beach, Cape Town, I looked up to the sky and in a circle, and saw: Lion's head, Table mountain and the 12 Apostles, returning back to the sea. I wanted to capture this amazing sight and the feeling of nurturing and protection, as in the womb.

About karen

Karen did an Art matric, then later Fine Art at Ruth Prowse Art School, Cape Town, majoring in Textile Design.
Not wanting to be a part of the commercial art world, she always painted when she had the time, as a healing therapy, while teaching in Montessori pre-schools, inspiring young children to express themselves through Art.
Nature, as well as woman and child themes inspires her. The spirit of softness, strength and nurturing energy that exists in us all, the hope that good will triumph over the evil. Karen hopes whoever desires to own her art will resonate with the soul qualities she has expressed in her art works: the search for harmony, love, beauty and meaning in life.
