About Leone

Leone Tonkinson

Leone Tonkinson is a Dutch-based oil painter and founder of Solar Realism, a painting approach rooted in the observation of structural light and contained luminosity. Her work draws from South African light memory and European still life traditions, focusing on quiet presence, relational tension, and the internal life of form. Through layered glazing techniques, she reveals depth, atmosphere, and the subtle intelligence within natural subjects.
