About Aloma

Everyone has a story, a history, whether it be happy, sad, dark, hidden or totally crazy... it's free inspiration if one takes note. Being a South African, I am like everyone else in this country, used to seeing oppression, crime and poverty. There is so much chaos in our stunning land but also so much human spirit. We come together like no other country with our sport for example. If we quietly observe everything around us and once we try to inhale earth's positive energy, we are more likely to be able to connect color, emotion, texture, depth and even sound into a blended creation we can call our own art. I prefer abstract painting with a mixed medium but am constantly learning new techniques from the experts on youtube etc. and experimenting with anything I have at my disposal. I love bright colours as they distract from all the negative vibes around us and I try to portray happiness in my work in progress, just like our bright and beautiful South African sunshine. I am so grateful to my dad for all his advise and help and am trying to stay humble and am learning so much each and every day.
