About "Abuse: At a Window on Grace"

This painting will eventually be part of a series on abuse against women and children. A Window on Grace shows a positive look towards healing.
A woman standing inside a window, looking at the imaginary landscape of her thoughts. Her face is reflected on the window pane and the outline of a dove's feathers can be seen against the outside of the glass. She thinks about the effect of child abuse as perpetuated into adulthood, but also about the possible positive outcome, as shown in the playing child.

About Renee

Renee Calitz

Renée Calitz (née Bestbier) prefers depicting different aspects of the creation, as can be seen in her paintings of nature, birds, animals (especially cats!) as well as light and changing atmospheric and weather conditions, showing sensitive drawing and subtle nuances of colour.

Another one of her interests is visually representing the Word of God, as shown in her ever-unfinished series called, “The Visual Word”.
Renee works in several media, including acrylic, watercolours, oils, silk paint on silk, pastels, pencil, pen and markers.
