About "African Baskets"

With the use of pencil, ink & watercolor of textured paper I highlighted the starkness and play of shadows within this still life of African baskets, clay pots and metal room dividers. This artwork was done in Joburg CBD at an old factory that was converted into an art centre.

Christopher Meintjes is a talented artist and interior designer who grew up in cosmopolitan Johannesburg, South Africa.

Throughout my life I've showed a passion for the arts and after high school furthered my studies in interior architecture,graduating with distinction.

I find inspiration in pop culture, music as well as nature.My passion for life and adventure has provided me with the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life whilst travelling to far and exotic locations.
