About "Agate Bird"

The wonderful world of Agate stones inspired me to create this artwork. It has the same curvy lines found in an Agate - clearly visible on a sliced polished rock with beautiful colors and lines.

In addition to the features of the Agate, I was inspired to create a breath of life into the abstract with the suggestion of a bird's head and a flat beak across the canvas.

There are intense colors of purple infusing into one another with sap green that gets its different tonal values from mixing into the white paint. The primary use of (two) colors and white keeps the painting a clean and bright canvas with minimalist touches.

This moderately small painting will be a great pleasure in a modern home's bedroom to light up any dull area, or solely in a corner above a small table with a minimalist featured decoration to create a stunning focal point. The idea for the painting is to turn heads; looking at the Agate-like bird from all angles, making contact with it's more realistic formed eye while observing the smear and paint techniques of scattered impasto.
