About "Almost Red"

The inspiration to paint the abstract artworks titled ‘Almost Red’ came about because I experience the colour red to be so invigorating. This particular hue of red reminds me of the coral tree’s seed know as ‘lucky beans’. As a little girl growing up in Rhodesia, I remember the fun in collecting lots of beans for lots of luck.
This artwork was created to exhilarate your imagination by using a palette of awe inspiring colour.
Enjoy this painting, may it serve as a reminder that most experiences, however challenging, are not without purpose. Live to make memories ...........

Lee Templeton is a self taught artist, who was born on the 13 July in Bulawayo Rhodesia, a British Commonwealth country at the time. In her late teens she moved with her family to South Africa. In her early twenties she married a Northern Italian and signed her name Lee Giudici. Two days after her 27th birthday Lee was left widowed, with two toddlers and unemployed. It was during that period that she began her entrepreneurial commercial career. Four years later, she remarried and signed her artworks Lee Schoeman. In the summer of 1992 Lee began a new hobby in art. Every day after work she spent time practicing to paint. With dedicated discipline she began by reproducing the well known EuropeanOld Masters. Having practiced with most art mediums, she favours oil and acrylics. Sadly Lee was widowed for yet a second time. She did not paint at all for almost three years.

Lee says, During 2008 I sold my last commercial business, a factory manufacturing and printing commercial signage. My staff designed, printed, manufactured, steel and aluminium structures for indoor and outdoor advertisement billboards. So after 27 years of managing the turbulence of entrepreneurship and the challenges of widowhood twice, I decided to carry a paint palette instead of a briefcase and sign my signature with a paintbrush instead of a black ink pen. I have accepted Gods gift of joy, to live a life filled with appreciation and contentment. By June of 2009, Lee had developed her individual style of painting. Her canvases are large with a sense of spaciousness. The topics are simplistic in nature painted in a contemporary style. Lee describes her style of artwork as simplistic-contemporary. From 18 September 1992 each painting is numbered and logged. By August 2012 Lee had painted 800 canvases. Lee has kept a few for her home, gifted a few to family and friends and the balance has been sold.
Recently remarried, Lee s artworks are now signed Lee Templeton.

Lee says, I have seen and appreciated so many beautiful artworks masterfully painted, the public are spoilt for choice, therefore I regard myself humbly fortunate when one of my artworks are chosen by a discerning Client.
