Reference Terracotta Aloe About "Aloe" I often draw inspiration from nature. Aloes are particularly sculptural and lend well to clay forms. I love the way the thorns are deep red and complement the leaf green. I have created this with the clay as the red and have painted green layered colour for the leaves. The aloe grows naturally tall with shallow root and the very form is amazingly strong; I have used this same aspect with a single leaf in a vessel. |
