About "Bakoven Baby"

After a long wide-awake full moon night, I watched the light of dawn creep over the ocean from my stoep, whilst the sinking moon continued to glow in the pink. The silence and clarity of being brought me this image.

About Genevieve

Born in South Africa.
I have traveled extensively. My favourite way of assimilating the experience of each country is through drawing, painting and photography.

I have drawn and painted my whole life. My art has provided me with a loyal friend at times, a defiant fiend at others. Whilst I have frequently worked from dreams over the years, my most recent work involves archetypal subject matter. It is an exciting dialogue with the subconscious.

In broad categories, my work includes: still-life, nudes, landscapes, portraits, travelogues, wildlife, animals, interiors and buildings, abstracts.
