About "Black Eagle (Sold Out)" There are a pair of Black Eagles nesting in a reserve near to me and I've always wanted to create a life size Eagle because they have such universal appeal and are the epitome of strength, freedom and hunting prowess. In Native American culture Eagles carry our prayers to the Creator. This particular sculpture shows the Eagle a split second before it's talons grab the unsuspecting prey. I've tried to capture the intense focus and precision of it's strike as it flares its wings and 'stalls' moments before powering up to carry the weight of its prey. |

Brandon grew up in Johannesburg and always had a very keen interest in animals, keeping all kinds of weird and wonderful pets. At the age of fifteen he moved to Durban where he immediately started working part-time at the Dolphinarium and Snake Park on weekends and holidays. School was little more than an irritation that happened somewhere in a gloomy background and delayed him from getting on with what he wanted to do. After school he spent two years in the army and then worked full time at the Snake Park for six months. Restless and full of wander-lust he resigned and took off for the bush where he was involved in various aspects including a curio venture, game ranging at several private reserves, filming documentaries on lions and hyenas in Botswana and Namibia for National Geographic and the BBC and eventually winding up managing the crocodile farm at Sun City for twelve years.
