Arnold studied horticulture, landscape architecture and town planning. He has had no art training as he grew up in Magaliesburg on a farm and attended agricultural schools where art was not given as a subject. Arnold has always enjoyed art and is totally facinated by clouds and the movement and moods thereof ,"clouds are so alive". He does not paint full time as he is a landscaper , hence his love for nature and landscapes.He believes one should share art with everybody no matter what form thereof or what mediums are used.He attended an art workshop with Dale & Mel Elliottin Villiersdorp in 2010.
