About "Brusvigia OriëNtalis"
This huge red ball of a flower appears in March announcing autumn. It has a giant ball under the sand and the huge leaves appear in winter lying flat on the sand. In this painting I painted an arial view to show the sand surrounding it.

About Annelie
I am living on a farm in the Sandveld between Velddrif and Piketberg. I am inspired by my surroundings and the wealth of indigenous wildflowers of the area. The detailed, sensitive (almost impressionistic) paintings stems from a fusion of my scientific background and creative spirit. The images transcend the mere physical appearance of the subject and become visual poetry about Creation.
