About "Canadian Skyline"

This was my first oil painting. I had dabbled with art over the years, but once I started oil painting, I fell in love. I challenged myself with this first painting by wanting to achieve a believable water effect. Thanks to the help of my teacher, I have a pleasing result :)

About Jamie

From a young boy I had always liked the idea of being an artist, but never believed I could be.

Drawing a likeness to something just seemed out of my reach.

Then one day I decided that I had as much chance of being an artist as anyone, so I began to practice often until my perception of objects around me changed. Once I saw the relationships of objects and their environments, drawing and painting accurately became a lot easier.

I would like o steer my art into the sci-fi and fantasy genre some day, but for now am still happy to just produce beautiful landscape paintings.
