About Martini

Martini

Craig Geoffrey Martin (Martini) was born in Cape Town in 1972 but spent most of his adult life in the Eastern Cape. He donned the nickname Martini when asked once at a party how he likes his whiskey, he replied in a Sean Connery accent, “shaken not stirred.” Martini completed studies in Business Administration and spent part of his career as a Portfolio Manager and also an Area Manager for one of the large banks. Martini considers himself to be unemployable having had two jobs mutually terminated and one termination that was not entirely mutual. With a family of four depending on him, Martini keeps coming back to painting while in between jobs. His love for painting was kindled when he studied for a year at the Belgravia Art Centre while in High School and during that time he took private lessons from an Italian Master who mostly painted using oils. Martini moved to the West Coast in 2009 where he was able to set up a studio in his garage at home and has moved his hobby to a career.
