About "Cherry Study: Expressionism"

We live in Ficksburg, the cherry capital of South Africa and I thought it a good idea to paint them - with a twist. There are 5 paintings in the set : Realism, Cubism, Expressionism, Pointism and Surealism. It turned out to be one of my favourites.

I find art is calming to me - after a hectic corporate life in Johannesburg, it transports me to a different place where my creativity comes to fore.

We live in the Eastern Free State Highlands and for me it is incredibly beautiful here. I find so much inspiration in the people and places around me; I can explore my creativity without limits.
