About "Creation"
This painting has a lot of meaning to it. Let me explain.
To portray Creation in one image, I imagine it look's like this: The high relief wording:
Crebat quod habes et habes = if you believe that you have it, you will have it.
Dominus vobiscum = The Lord is with you
Crux mihi ancor = The cross is my anchor
Life was created with love, out of it sprouts the tree of life, and I used a 3D heart and tree. As Africa is known as the cradle of human kind, rock art come to mind. I also used gold leafing to portray the riches of Africa. The music sheet represents creativity of humans.

About Christel
Hi there
I grew up in Pretoria East. After school, I started my career as an Environmental Control Officer. Over the course of the next few years, I would work managing a Game Capture Team, and Managed a Game farm.
After working as an Industrial Engineering Draughtsman for 10 years, I chose a more creative path. I started with a variety of art mediums but have narrowed it down to painting, carving, macram[0xC3A9] and pewter.
Art for me is about telling a story. A blank canvas in front of an artist is both an adventure and a challenge. An adventure because you get to create something from scratch and a challenge because you don't always know how it's going to turn out. I guess it's this mystery that keeps me returning to the canvas.
I also work on commission, creating distinct pieces that will tell your story.
