Reference 128 About "Crossing The Pan" “Crossing the Pan” is a painting depicting a small herd of Elephants crossing the Magadikgadik Pan in Botswana. The subject was inspired by an experience on the pan during one of my journeys when a sand storm crossed in front of us like a great vertical curtain. Our party was able to walk up to the edge of wind storm wall it was so sheer. This surreal experience has remained with me since 1990 and inspired me to do a painting depicting Elephant crossing the pan as they did many years ago before reserve fences were erected. |
