About Riaan

My style is rarely the same and I will try something new with every painting.

I love using bright and playful colours, but some paintings do reflect my dark side - especially my ink works. Themes vary from people to landscapes to abstract, but I have a special love for portraits - trying to capture a moment of emotion.

My black and white ink paintings are quite popular with several dozen commissions already completed. Ballerinas in ink seem to be the most popular.

I've got a fondness for "pop art" reminiscent of Andy Warhol, Jack Vettriano and Louis Jover, with subjects such as Marylin Monroe, James Dean, Elvis Presley, John Lennon and many more.

I'm also proud of the fact that I was the winner of the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Eisteddfod fine arts open category.
