About "Earth"
In art, earth colors are tertiary colors. These can be made of several types of warmer pigments such as yellow ocher and umber, both of which contain metal oxides obtained by mining.
Earthy paint mixes have been produced by applying binder such as egg and oil to the artist pigments of Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber, and Burnt Umber. In addition, Indian red, Yellow Ocher being, Red Ocher, and Brown Ocher are consistently referred to as earth colors.
Those tertiary colors include all of all three primary colors red, yellow and blue and are all considered warm colors.

About Christel
Hi there
I grew up in Pretoria East. After school, I started my career as an Environmental Control Officer. Over the course of the next few years, I would work managing a Game Capture Team, and Managed a Game farm.
After working as an Industrial Engineering Draughtsman for 10 years, I chose a more creative path. I started with a variety of art mediums but have narrowed it down to painting, carving, macram[0xC3A9] and pewter.
Art for me is about telling a story. A blank canvas in front of an artist is both an adventure and a challenge. An adventure because you get to create something from scratch and a challenge because you don't always know how it's going to turn out. I guess it's this mystery that keeps me returning to the canvas.
I also work on commission, creating distinct pieces that will tell your story.
