About "Enceladus"
The painting, "Enceladus" is what happens when one watches BBC Doccies about Outer Space while at the same time doing a painting of the Sun. So it turns out Saturn has one of the coolest moons ever! Literally. Covered completely in ice, with a boiling hydrogen (I think that's what the dude said) centre, Enceladus is one of the most reflective bodies in the Solar System. And get this, it has ice volcanoes! Now I love our moon as much as the next guy but it ain't got no ice volcanoes! So I was on the couch, mesmerised by this freshly received information when the Inner Artist unexpectedly whispered, "You know, if you were to paint that you could always splash the volcanoes..." And that's honestly the whole story. Minutes later there were more info and reference, and by the time sleep came that night there were canvas sizes and pre-sketches. The rest is one beautiful blur of blues, yellows, whites and mint green (It's an Enceladus thing). The word at the bottom of the painting is Enceladus's Phonetic spelling. Not merely because I could, but also because I've always liked Phonetics. It's visually pleasing and was the only thing about Afrikaans-Dutch that I actually understood. So, without intent, there are now paintings of the sun and a moon, of fire and of ice. "What to do next?" he pondered. May the Creative Force be with you! V.
