About "Escape from Arcania"

I began taking photographs of rocks in the garden, really close up, and they all looked like different planet surfaces to me.

I wanted to do a fantasy piece that was obscure, that had a story but not told. I like others to make up their own stories as to what might be happening in this painting.

About Jamie

From a young boy I had always liked the idea of being an artist, but never believed I could be.

Drawing a likeness to something just seemed out of my reach.

Then one day I decided that I had as much chance of being an artist as anyone, so I began to practice often until my perception of objects around me changed. Once I saw the relationships of objects and their environments, drawing and painting accurately became a lot easier.

I would like o steer my art into the sci-fi and fantasy genre some day, but for now am still happy to just produce beautiful landscape paintings.
