About "Escaping the Trap" Butterfly Valley inspired me to use butterflies in some of my art and it is a lovely feminine symbol. The metal stand is welded and the butterfly consists of wire with beads. The stand looks top heavy, but it is bend in a certain way to be able to stand freely. The metal started to rust, which makes it look more rustic. This sculpture can be used indoors or outdoors and the fairy lights create a wonderful ambience. I visited "Ushaka" in Durban and came across a shop where the artists incorporated fairy lights with sculptures. It inspired me to incorporate it with the butterfly. |
