About "Fun on Heritage Day"

Shopping in Woollies on Heritage Day all the female staff were in "tribal" dress. Two of the ladies were in red outfits, sparkling and full of fun, and I was so captivated by their happiness I wanted to capture the moment. I quickly took three photos with my phone - this painting is the result.

About Dawn

I first of all just love drawing. Give me a pencil and a piece of paper and I am happy. Working in my studio, becoming totally absorbed in the moment, lost in colours, shapes, and beautiful music I can ask for no more. I also paint with a group of friends, and when we are all engrossed in our individual work and the room is quiet and filled with this really special aura of creativity to me this is what makes it all worth while.
I have done numerous portrait commissions, in pastels, charcoal, oils and now mainly in acrylics.
From 2005 I have been commissioned by Northern Cricket Union to do portraits of their players who are selected for the National team, as well as of the Past Presidents of the Union.
