About "Ghost Houses of Kolmanskop"

Please note that this series is made up of 4 separate paintings, that could be framed or displayed together as a series.

It was inspired by the Ghost Houses of Kolmanskop in Namibia. I see the beauty in the old derelict buildings.

I also like to compare the old run down buildings to our own bodies/lives, that become worn and used, and filled up with sands of time! The wind that comes to clean up and blow away the sand, can be likened to the Lord purifying our hearts and souls!

About Julie

I studied Fine Arts for 4 years at the Natal Technikon, where I majored in Painting and Photography. I find myself drawn mainly to landscapes, and work in a wide range of medium. I work as a graphic and website designer.
