About "God Bless Africa"
Africa is a continent with so much beauty and diversity. We see the suffering and pain of its people , the struggles and battles and at the same time we are confronted with the contrast of incredible potential. The African sunsets, the life of the oceans, the innocence of Africa's children challenge us all to recreate and reconstruct a better life for all its people. Preserve the wildlife, the forests, our coral reefs...the inheritance of our children's children. "God Bless Sfrica"

About Marleen
"My work is spiritually inspired, celebrating life. A positive expression of lessons learnt through nature and everyday life." Marleen(also known as Paddy ) grew up in Pretoria, matriculating at the Pro Arte High School for Art, Ballet, and Music. After matric she ventured into music, the graphic art and advertising world. As a free-lance artist, she was commissioned to do several artworks for public buildings and corporates. Marleen’s first solo exhibition was held in 1987. Another three solo exhibitions followed, also participating in numerous group exhibitions. After lecturing in Art to adults for three years at the Hatfield Christian Training Centre, she was led back to the commercial art field in 1995. Marleen established Blue Note Art Studio cc, which offers graphic design and illustration facilities. Clients include ad-agencies, lodges across Africa, SA National Parks and Publishers, etc. “I believe that all the artforms are integrated in some way.” Marleen (Paddy) is also an accomplished professional musician, her instruments being saxophone, flute, guitar and vocals. Her passion for life, the ultimate Creator and his creation, inspires her to express her experiences and impressions in a myriad of ways. Scuba diving and sailing have become integral parts of her life, adding a great dimension to her art and music. Her husband is a professional photographer and they often travel and explore the beauty of creation, working together on projects. “The diversity we see around us, is motivation for me to constantly improve as an individual and as an artist. I love working in various media, as each one has its own moods and textures. The innocence and childlike wisdom of my three daughters have captured my heart. This stirs me to do everything I do with sincere conviction and passion.”
Since 2002 Marleen has also been illustrating a number of children's books working for publishers like Oxford, MML, Heinemann, Vivlia, Juta, Nasou Via Afrika, Cambridge etc. She is also a member of the SCBWI (Society for children's books, writers and illustrators)
