Reference Acrylic 6 About "Going Home" A donkey cart makes me feel nostalgic of a time that is going by. Donkey carts are still used today as a means of transport in the rural parts of Namibia, South Africa and especially in the Karoo and Northern Cape regions. The people known as "Karoo Karretjie-mense", own donkeys that pull carts. These carts are made from old broken-down horse carriages and motor vehicles. These carts carry all their possessions, as they are always on the move from one farm to another where they find work. These people are very poor. |

Growing up on a farm in the foothills of the Drakensberg mountains, gave me the opportunity to enjoy nature in all its beauty. I am inspired by nature, both landscape and sky. I see myself as a self-taught artist who is continuously learning. I end my signature with three crosses: the cross of salvation, hope and warning.
