Grace Black and White Oil

About "Grace"

Grace is my first black and white (two-tone) painting in oil. I painted her from a blurry sepia photo of a woman's backside, wondering what she would like in contrasts - black to white tones, shadows and depths, with a shoulder line upwards. Grace was the result of these musings :-)

I have been painting all my life. It's a thrilling experience being an international artist as my art resides across countries. My inspiration comes from every day experiences, some cherished others not. My art follows no theme other than expression. I painted "Chestnut horse" thinking of my childhood best friends and our love for this animal. I adore the medium for its freedom it lends me and its beauty I can proudly add my name to.
