About Anro

I love the way certain paintings reflect the life of a person or the spirit of the time "zeitgeist". As a child, we traveled a lot and I had the opportunity to see many of the old masters works and my parents could not drag me away from the 'Nachtwacht' by Rembrandt van Rijn. I love paintings that tell stories and capture something of that spirit.

I studied fine arts at the University of Pretoria for three years, and I am currently studying architecture at Tshwane University of Technology. I am in my fourth year of study.

I believe that art and architecture are closely related and are always inspired by one another. They both reflect the 'zeitgeist' (spirit of the time). One of the most obvious examples is the Rietveld-Schroder House and a Piet Mondriaan painting (de Stijl) which are almost carbon copies. Yes, throughout history art and architecture have been very closely related, both following the same styles or movements.

My dream is, to have my own architecture firm and art gallery one day.
