About "Hemel en Aarde"

This is a painting of a photograph I took in the Hemel and Aarde valley inland from Hermanus in the Cape. The church stands in a valley surrounded by mountains, vinyards, trees and fields. A very apt scene for the heaven and earth valley.

I paint a variety of subjects, mostly with a South African theme, or anything that sparks my interest. My work is in a glazed transparent oil style.

My desire is for my art to give a sense of pleasure, peace and serenity to those that view it.
