Reference ccsa08 About "Herbst Milch 2" The painting illustrates poverty after the second world war. Although Europe was poverty stricken, the positive attitude got the nations back to where they stand today. In the series of these paintings you"ll only see happy people. The painting consists of a combination of brush work and palette knife work. The softer brush techniques and bright colours accentuate the love and happiness amongst the children, where as the palette knife work and the darker brown colours reflect back on the hardship of the war. The colour and texture contrasts balance well and creatice additional perspective to the painting |

Born in Brakpan, South Africa from german parents, I developed a fascination for replicating reality on a flat surface at a very young age and completed my first oil-painting at the age of ten under the guidence of Dianne Johnson Ackerman. Art as an income generator was never an option in those days and started a degree in Languages at RAU. Worked as landscaper for 17 years and was diagnosed with fast developing melanomas of a malignant nature, and had to minimise time spent in the sun. I took my art more seriously and never looked back. Started an art school to seed the joy and therapy of art with others.
