In my cabin, there is a little wooden boat on the window ledge. It struck me how it will keep going nowhere forever, never sink but never get anywhere either. At the sink, the two taps are a couple in dialogue.

About Genevieve

Born in South Africa.
I have traveled extensively. My favourite way of assimilating the experience of each country is through drawing, painting and photography.

I have drawn and painted my whole life. My art has provided me with a loyal friend at times, a defiant fiend at others. Whilst I have frequently worked from dreams over the years, my most recent work involves archetypal subject matter. It is an exciting dialogue with the subconscious.

In broad categories, my work includes: still-life, nudes, landscapes, portraits, travelogues, wildlife, animals, interiors and buildings, abstracts.
