About Graham

Graham White

My interest in art was sparked many years ago by our friend and artist Nigel Chapman. I would watch him at work but could never apply to paper what I had seen him do as unfortunately he was a lousy teacher!
I now like to think I've established my own style thanks to various mentors. I am presently a member of Art by the Sea Club in Margate KZN.

Using water-colours can be a magical experience as it often does its own thing and produces pleasing unintentional results.
My subject choice is mostly derelict buildings - particularly their doors. I find beauty in old weathered shacks, run-down houses and the like. Most of the references I use for these are from photographs I have taken when overseas.
I do certain commissions and have sold in the UK and from galleries and exhibitions in and around Johannesburg and the lower South Coast. I now live in KZN with my wife Cynthia and Wellington our beagle.
