Reference Picture-573cropw450 About "Jatan The Lion King" The well earned and fought-for title of leader of the pride. Wise, alert and focused he appears from the brush totally focused on the prey. The old battle wounds and lessons learnt from his long days and nights on the African plains. His only thought and objective is his hunger. The relentless heat of the sun beating down, adds to his instinctual frustrations. Constant alertness for the preparation of the chase. The responsibility rests on his wisdom to lead the pride. The harsh reality of the bush, a law that has stood the test of all days and is upheld relentlessly is survival. Nature takes out the weak and the old, the cycle of life is a never ending spiral, like the beating of a drum, a rhythm that is constant and pulsates with energy. This is one of my latest expressionistic pieces. This is executed on loose canvas and can be rolled in a tube for convenient shipping. It can be stretched onto a 25mm frame if so desired. Full canvas size is 400 x 600mm. |

Thereafter worked in the adverting industry for twenty years where he excelled especially as an illustrator.
