About "Klipspringer"

Few animals are so well adapted to their environment than a klipspringer and its ability to run safely and quickly over rocky terrain gives it confidence. So, they often take up this pose when approached, looking over its shoulder but ready to flee knowing that it can easily avoid that stupid 4x4 crawling up the track.
Incorporating a sun is a common feature of my work. It is definitive of the African bush and I turn round things.

About Roy

Roy Gibbs

Originally from Ipswich in the UK, I emigrated in 1979, working for a British company, and remained here in this beautiful, exciting country ever since. I live on the edge of the Moot valley with a vista of the Magaliesberg mountains and a garden full of birds. Karee, Hookthorn and Pink Ivory trees grow around the house, Stamvrug and Milkwood on the hillslopes behind us.
I have been woodturning for 25 years and in the last few years I have been incorporating pyrography into my work to the extent that my turning is becoming incorporated into my pyrography. It delights me that I can combine my love of wildlife with working with wood and that I can see so many avenues to explore in the future. Finding ways to combine these 2 skills into desirable art work is a very fulfilling occupation. I hope you enjoy what you see and I welcome any comments, complimentary or not.
