About Neo

I live in Mohlakeng (West of Johannesburg). I developed a love for art at an early age: I grew up in a community that did not have Fine Artists but sign writers; this inspired and encouraged me to become a Fine Artist. I started drawing under my grandmother's supervision (PBUH) whom could not draw or paint but she had ideas. After Matric, I studied Visual Arts at FUBA school of Dramatic and Visual Arts for a year, then studied Fine Arts at University of Johannesburg for 3yrs. Thereafter, I worked as a freelance mural painter travelling in and around Johannesburg - I painted private and corporate murals. I am inspired by creation of GOD/JAH,
as I believe HE's the ''ultimate'' and diverse artist of all time, My work is usually influenced by what I hear, smell, feel, and see. I am forever grateful for my senses. Some of my most recent achievements include: being 1 of 8 artists commissioned by VANSA Western Cape to produce artworks for the City of Cape Town in connection with the 2010 Soccer World Cup, selected for (Take artist to alternative Space- TATAS project) by Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, 2nd West Rand Tourism awards: 1st Place winner in Arts and Crafts Category, and West Rand Youth Achievers Gala Dinner: acknowledgement Certificate (Voted Youth Ambassador).
