About Hamraj
I am a South African Artist of Indian descent. I started painting as a hobby and am now pursuing it as a career. Producing art has ceased to be a pastime, and it has become a full-time engagement. My work has a distinctive Indian and South African flavor and influence as seen in my use of bright colours and diverse subject matter. Each artwork is very personal to me in so far as it depicts my cultural orientation that has blended with the African environment. I paint with a lot of passion and attention to detail that is true to the subject that is being portrayed. Since discovering myself as an artist and realising my potential, my art has evolved and matured. The skill and capacity to produce art seems to unfold with each piece of art I am producing. I am finding myself living for my artwork and the drive to celebrate my creative instincts propels me to produce paintings at a rate that I never anticipated. My productivity has gained momentum and I am feeding on the reassuring feedback from admirers. I am a graphic designer by profession and manage a publishing and branding section based in KwaZulu-Natal. I am a husband and father of two daughters whose love and support shapes my resolve to dedicate myself to my new calling as an artist.
