Reference Eve on a drawer stand About "Making Eve" This sculpture is an exercise in honing building skills in clay and was set for my students as a project. I love the softness of the hands and the quiet of her posture. I decided not to overwork her surface but to simply build her. It made me feel like God taking clay and fashioning man. I have set her on a bureau. All my working tools and picture references used in the making of Eve are in the drawer upon which she sits. |

The constant play of light and shadow around us is visible in my work. I sculpt with light as a tool; reading the shadows that arise from the fall of light on a sculpted line.
