About "Modernism in Green Pastures" The sculptor, Marke Meyer's reclining figures inspired me. My husband Gerald High owns a butterfly farm and we started feeling very passionate about butterflies. Butterflies are generally a feminine symbol. Butterflies are a symbol for the transition into the afterlife. This sculpture resembles peace and tranquillity. Modernism is already old fashioned, because we live in a post-post-modern world and that is why this reclining figure is called "Modernism in green pastures". |
