About "Moon Sun Star Tryptich"

This triptych was created for a small format. It is naive in it's approach and illustrates the main orbs in the sky. There is an African feel to these paintings and an approachable way to it. You can see the small houses in the night of "Moon", the grass in the daytime of "Sun" the poked surface of a planet in "Star". They can be hang in a child's room or above a door or small column.

About Ajzen

People interest me.

I bring what I feel about the subject I paint into the painting itself. I always fall a bit in love with my subject. Suddenly I like the eyes, or the nose or the ears.

Colour is important to me, not to shock but to convey a feeling of being alive and in the present. My colour represents what I see as if looking through a stained glass window. What you would see if you looked through the window of a church as a child.

There is a bit of fantasy in my work because I believe that life is not only what we see and hear. Much of our life we spend sleeping and the mind does not know that we are dreaming or awake, so it follows that surreal colours and dreams are part of our reality too.

Some of my work is influenced by my country of birth, Argentina, with it's magical realism in my blood, but mostly I paint the present rather than the past.
