About "Muizenberg Beach Huts"

The Muizenberg beach huts are arguably, after Table Mountain, one of the most photographed features of Cape Town. Living only five minutes from the beach, the challenge is to try and do something different with these famous landmarks.

With this in mind, I limited my shot to just four huts and concentrated on creating a graphical image rather than just a Cape Town tourist shot.

About Robin

Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father has a photograph of me, at age 3, taking a photograph of him. In high school I discovered that photography and a camera confidently wielded, provided access to people & places that might otherwise have been out of reach.

However, what fascinated me from the very beginning, was that I could capture moments in time, manipulate them, and turn them into art. Digital photography and editing has of course opened previously unimagined possibilities in this regard. The digital age has forever changed what it means to be a photographer. Photography now includes not only 'pure' photographic images, straight from the camera, but also digital imaging art, using photographs as a starting point and framework for new artistic, photographic possibilities.

I believe that photography is art if it is treated as such. I believe that art requires constant experimentation, learning and pushing of boundaries. I believe that creativity and its appreciation is a basic function of humanity. I don't believe in limiting myself to any one style or aspect of my art.
