About "Ndebele Pyrography"

The Jacaranda wood used for turning this bowl was salvaged from MILLBANK which was the first CORN MILL in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. MILLBANK was started near the town of Fort Beaufort in the 1860’s.
The rim has been pyrographed to add interest to the design and emphasize the natural beauty of the wood.
The exterior sweep of the bowl has been textured & scorched to bring out the ethnic effect of the bowl.
