About "New Life"
THE SYMBOLISM The metamorphosis of the earthly caterpillar into a camouflaged, motionless pupa, and then into a delicate winged beauty is one of the most remarkable events in the natural world. The caterpillar's emergence from an imprisoning form is most often associated with the theme of rebirth and resurrection. In spiritual terms this looks like the release of the soul from the gross limits of the material world or of one's lower nature. The transformation of these delicate creatures hints at a process of life moving to limitless life. Rationally we know the caterpillar could not imagine its life to come. Neither can we fathom the consequences of a radical shift in our preoccupations and patterns of behavior; yet the butterfly gives hope for change. It can help us trust in the course of our precious and transient human lives on earth. The start of my new life after a bad depression, healed by God.

About Selah
Previously Known as Retha du Toit. I work from a small home studio in Krugersdorp, Johannesburg and have the privilege of being a full time artist. Most of my paintings are painted on inspiration but I do a lot of commissions especially portraits and special requests. I also give lessons in small groups, and will continue to do so, as I find it very fulfilling to aid someone else in finding their expression in the world of art and also having a relaxing atmosphere. My Inspiration is from God's creation, I also do prophetic art. My new name as artist is one given to me by God.
