About Hennie

For over three decades, I've painted the world as I see it -- raw, honest, and deeply human. My inspiration comes from ordinary people, fleeting light, and the stories that live quietly in everyday moments.

My artistic journey was shaped profoundly during the 41/2 years I worked with South African master Gregoire Boonzaier. From him I learned not only the language of line and colour, but the truth that every brushstroke must carry emotion, integrity, and respect for the subject.

Educated as a teacher and driven by a lifelong passion for art, I blend discipline with intuition -- painting what I feel rather than what I simply see. Each canvas I create is a reflection of connection: between artist and viewer, between memory and meaning.

I don't just paint scenes -- I paint life as it breathes.
Owning one of my works means taking home a piece of that truth: a reminder that beauty exists in the ordinary, and that emotion, once captured, never fades.
