About "Nieuwoudtville Koppie"

The contrast of the rock outcrop surrounded by vast flat open spaces and depth of field of the sky was the inspiration for this painting. It remains one of my favourite works.

About Annette

Annette Rall developed an early interest in art as a young scholar through the Frank Joubert Art Centre. She later took private lessons in etching from Sue Williamson, after which she started experimenting in oils. She attended classes by her brother Deon Liebenberg in oil painting technique and colour.

Initial works were portrait studies in oils, and after several commissions Annette felt a need to broaden the scope of her work.

With a passion for nature,and having flown to many Karoo Towns to attend fly-ins, where she was exposed to landscapes not normally seen, the progression to landscape art was inevitable.

With her photo-realist approach to her subject matter, she found wildlife art to be a natural continuation of her landscape art.
