About "Nostalgia"

During a tour through Spain in 2001, the picturesque town of Mijas was visited. The beauty of this town lies in the many alleys and balconies, decorated by an abundance of flowers. The artist made sketches and took photographs of some of the scenes. In this specific painting the artist’s husband can be seen in the foreground. Old buildings, alleys and balconies always make a good composition for a painting.

About Anna

Anna Sophia Aletta Johanna van Zyl, an Educational Psychologist, studied art under guidance of Elize Olivier, Beau Art, Jeffreys Bay. She prefers working in acrylic, water colours and oil pastels. She also does pen sketches.

Anna finds her inspiration in the country life surroundings of the Eastern Cape in South Africa. She also loves doing replicas of the old masters.
