About "On The Third Day"
On the Third day.
Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so. So the evening and the morning were the third day.
Detailed Description:
The Four Frames: The top left and right horizontal and vertical frames represent the two major religions being Christianity and Islam. The horizontal being the Muslems as they pray bowing down and lying down horizontally. The vertical being the Christians as they pray standing up. The bottom small frame represents Judiasim which is made up of two streams, the Eastern and Western Jews. The bottom left frame which has eight edges represent all the other faiths.
The reason I painted the different religions as symetrical frames is that all religions have borders and set boundaries.
The flowers and the branches, as you can see, represent what God created on the Third day. Although nothing else was created on the Third Day, everything else already existed but was not formed yet, In the painted this can be seen in the top left, where I painted the unformed faces of animals and birds, which were only created on the 5th and 6th days of creation. This can also be seen in the bottom of the painting. The faces of man and woman with the yellow being the flames of fire between them.
Before God created the trees and grass, God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear" That is the reason the painting is brown which represents the Earth and the blue I painted around the frames represents the waters.
The colours in the frames are red representing blood and black representing evil. The reason being that a lot of evil and blood has been spilt during the course of History due to the faiths and religions. But that is how God intended us to worship him, like an army which has different divisions but is still under one general. Let us all pray in our own way that no more blood will be shed in our world.
