About "Orange Jacket"

People of the Cape was the inspiration for this piece of work. I wanted to capture the colourful way in which Capetonians live, they just love bright colours in their dress and artwork. The jacket just did it for me, it said everything about the people of the Cape.

The world is full of inspiration, no matter where one lives. The colours of nature, skies, landscapes, ever changing light, all inspire my thoughts and feelings. Where ever I am I take a sketch pad and camera to capture ideas. Nature for me is always an inspiration to paint. I use vibrant colours in my work because that is how I see the beautiful world we live in.
