About "Peaceful Reflections"

Peaceful Reflections. This is on the Kabusie River in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. I tried to capture the beauty,mood,light and the reflections I saw. I could have stayed at this location for hours just soaking up the peacefulness and freshness as it was Springtime. The green of the grasses were just this colour and I was so excited when I managed to capture this. I painted fewer rocks than at the scene as I wanted them to stand out and not just become one mass of rocks. I hope you enjoy this painting.

About Valerie

I was born in East London, South Africa and have lived here all my life. I am married and I have three children who are all married now. I also have three beautiful granddaughters and two lovely grandsons.

I love to paint in oils and to experiment with colour and realism. I am blessed to have a lovely sunny studio from which I work and have spent many happy hours in it.
